Walpurgisnacht Cosplay
This beautiful Walpurgisnacht cosplay from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica was submitted by the lovely

"This is one of the most complicated and painful cosplays I have ever made. Almost 6 yards of blue taffeta, 6 yards of broadcloth and lace, 20 yards brown organza, 18 yards of velcro for the gears, 16 straight steel boning lengths, and 20 year old hoop boning from my mother's hoop skirt. It was expensive, pain staking, and almost not finished by the time Katsucon 2013 arrived. Luckily the work all paid off after winning 'Best of Weekend' at Zenkaikon 2013!
One of the best things about this costume though is the hoop skirt. Its 5 yards in circumference and can fit about 4.5 adults beneath it (meaning 5 people minus one butt!) People love to hide themselves in my hoop skirt, and its proved very useful in cold outdoor shoots as a warm haven for cold cosplayers. Above all else, those who don't know my character find me beautiful, and those who know Madoka find me terrifying. It's great getting a mixture of praise with this costume.
Although I have about a 4 hour limit before the hoop skirt begins to kill my waist and with the bangs in front I can see absolutely nothing during shoots, it's one fun costume to wear!"
