Assassin's Creed Cosplay

Princess Pieces looks beautiful in her Assassin's Creed inspired cosplay! Here's what she said about it...

"This is my Assassin's Creed outfit that I have got all together for my very first cosplay convention I am attending. The dress and belt were handmade by an online seller and the other bits and pieces I bought off eBay and Etsy as I didn't have time to create an outfit when I found out about the event. I have only just started doing cosplays and this is my second outfit, I absolutely love cosplaying so far and I wish to do a heap more in the future! :)"

"I'm a Canadian / Ottawa based cosplayer. I've only been cosplaying for a little bit over a year now and I don't intend on stopping anytime soon! I loved the shadow concept in the game Contrast and loved the artwork! I thought Dawn was such a beautiful character and I had to make this cosplay! I'm very excited to wear this at the Ottawa Comiccon on Sunday May 11!"

Wonder Woman Cosplay

Evening Arwen: Custom Costumes and Corsets is a talented designer and model! She looks amazing here in a Wonder Woman cosplay she made. Be sure to check out www.EveningArwen.com if you are interested in commissions. Here's what she said about this costume...

"This Wonder Woman was a commission request and the customer wanted it to be based off of the costume from the TV show that never came to be a few years ago. I wasnít a fan of the pleather look though and the customer agreed to alter the design a bit to be more of a classic look which I think turned out really well! She was also kind enough to let me do a quick photo shoot in the costume before I sent it off and now I wish I had my own WW costume lol! I only had about a day and a half to throw together some shoes, pants and a wig so while it wasnít as detailed as I would have liked (for example, stars on the sides of the pants) I still think it is one of my favorite shoots because of the character herself being so amazing and also iconic, no matter what version of her outfit you go for."

Sexy Alice in Wonderland Shoot

Our lovely Geek Girl Princess Nightmare is a HUGE Alice fan! :) She's done many version of Alice as you can see on her page! This one is an original sexier design which was inpired by artist ebas, here's what she said about it...

"I have loved all versions of Alice since I was young, I used to carry around the Disney cassette tape and I put a fuzzy cat sticker on it when I was 4 and told my mother it was because 'It is the only movie with no villains in it' . For my entire life I have been drawn to Alice and Wonderland. Although American McGee is my favorite because it is the most relatable to me (I promise I am not scary! She is just the Alice who has sort of 'been through the most' and she's dark and twisted and I kind of look like her.) I like doing as many versions of Alice as I can, some of my own thought and creation like Latex Alice and the sweeter corset and crinoline Alice, some based on Artists I love like Ebas and there are still others I have not gotten to like Looking Glass Wars Alice which I have a million sketches, and even have put together things from my wardrobe for but nothing that I feel is right yet so that is another to come eventually and of course someday there will be a Disney's Alice."

Catwoman: Femme Fatale or Flop?

Article by: Danielle Dosser (Geek Girl Elle) & Laura Kaye

Elle & her friend Laura co-wrote this paper for their Womenís Studies Class on Catwoman as a femme fatale as they understood her to be and critiqued the 2004 movie of Catwoman, pondering why it was that the only time she's been shown on her own was not what fans had expected...

Black Cat Cosplay

Cosplayer Dead Dolly looks absolutely stunning as Black Cat from The Amazing Spider-Man! She let us know why she chose her and a bit about her struggle with body type that many cosplayers can relate too...

"I made the mask myself out of worbla and cut and sewed the fur onto the body suit. I chose to cosplay Black Cat because she has a really messed up past, like myself, and I felt I could relate and portray her well. Another reason I chose her was because I wanted to show that you donít need the ďperfect cosplay bodyĒ to do a cosplay well. Iíve been under so much pressure to loose weight for conventions and shoots that I started to really let it get to me and I began to developed an eating disorder. Iím still not 100% but thatís okay. I am happy with these images and I want to inspire as many people as I can to be themselves, and donít let societies expectations get to you. <3"

Ryuko from Kill la Kill Cosplay

Cosplayer Khainsaw looks just perfect as Ryuko from the anime Kill la Kill! Here's what she said about her cosplay...

"Hi! My cosplay name is Khainsaw, and this is my first submission on Geek Girls ever! I did Life Fiber Sync Matoi Ryuko from the anime Kill La Kill for a convention down in Tucson called Con-Nichiwa. I wasn't originally going to do this version of Senketsu because it is skimpy! My friends kept suggesting I do it, but I guess I was nervous. I decided to cosplay her in regular Senketsu, and decided that if I liked being her, I'd do the transformed version. So I cosplayed her regular Senketsu last January, and it was the funnest cosplay I had done! I started working on this version right away. The scissor blade was made by me with the help of a friend, it was the first wood working project I have done, it took a very long time but I love the way it came out. Fun fact: my flashcards from my German class are sewn into the pleats of the skirt. Photographer is John Leman Jr., I love working with him, he is awesome! "
