Nana Osaki & Nana Komatsu Cosplay
Ferasha and
Wacky Cherry look lovely cosplaying as Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu from Nana! Here's what they had to say...
"Nana is the story of two provincial girls who, apart from sharing the same name, have very little in common yet manage to become best friends in the metropolis of Tokyo. Through the fate of two Nanas, we get to explore Tokyo's alternative scene and underground subcultures, youth, dreams and ambitions, rock music, romance and passion and relationships and heartbreak, ageing, disillusionment and disappointments, but above all else the dynamics of female friendship. "Nana"'s story dissects this bond between the girls, first by showing a most convincing portrayal of how their friendship is developed, and then by mercilessly guiding you through its downfall. The reason why "Nana" strikes right in the feelz so hard is exactly because it's not overly cynical or melodramatic in its approach. It tells the story in a very matter-of-fact, lifelike way, with brutal honesty and without excessive emotionality - it doesn't manipulate you into sympathizing with the characters, it shows their experiences in such a bare, sincere way that you cannot help but relate to them.
Now, Wacky Cherry and Ferasha were good friends even before this shooting, but becoming Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu together - reenacting the friendship between the girls, with the joy of being young together and the sadness when everything starts falling apart - was a really special experience. The shooting was very intense - tears were shed, no joke - but they both felt that it somewhat brought them closer together, deepening their friendship on a whole new level. And that's why cosplay is the best of hobbies."
