Mikasa Antoinette Mashup Cosplay
Carmilla Jo looks wonderful cosplaying as her mashup of Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan and Marie Antoinette! Here's what she had to say about this unique concept...
"Before I started cosplaying, I knew that I wanted to cosplay Mikasa. However, she and the rest of the Survey Corps have been done to death. Despite that, Mikasa remained on my cosplay wishlist. I love historical gowns, and I thought it would be fun to mash up Mikasa Ackerman and Marie Antoinette (they even have the same initials!). I waited until I was confident enough to sew this concept.
I’m so happy to be able to bring to life an original design that’s been floating around in my head for a long time. I feel elegant wearing Mikasa Antoinette, and was wondering if anyone would get the Mikasa and Marie Antoinette mashup concept. I’ve had people ask me if I was Wall Maria, or if the gown was in future chapters of the manga, or if it’s just a Survey Corps ball gown. I was pleasantly surprised that I ended up winning 3rd Place Overall at the SacAnime Winter 2017 Masquerade! It was such an honor, and I was very proud by all the feedback I received."
