Lightning Cosplay

S.K. Cosplay sent us this beautiful Lightning from Final Fantasy cosplay! Here is what she had to say about the shoot...
"So for this, again I made everything except the shoes and gloves. They had to be cut up though, the boots so they'd have the inserts and straps, and the gloves so they'd be fingerless, and then I added actual old bullet shells for the gold part.
The thing I was proudest of but was definitely the hardest and most brain wracking was the gunblade. Only because me and my dad made it in two days (right before I left to Cali) and I had to paint it at the hotel the morning of the Final Fantasy group photoshoot, and I missed it cause it wasn't dry.
The gunblade actually folds open and closed like in the game though, so it fits into the black gunblade bag when I need to walk around and don't wanna carry it. So missing the shoot was worth it, because having a working gunblade is so cool.
Other stuff that I really like about this costume is the shoulder armor- made this out of Sculpey, mainly because Sculpey is good for detailing and I wanted details exactly like in game. Then I painted it, and put EL wire through it, so it lights up.
And the wig..there's lots of pink wigs out there I could have bought, but Lightning's hair is like blonde pink, so I wasn't going to just buy it. So my sister, who shares my FB page, got a high end blonde wig and sat and colored it with Sharpie by hand- and it really came out the perfect color. Styling it was really fun.
So then my little brother dressed as Hope, and my sister as Jihl so we all did FFXIII together. It was really awesome. And I won a Judge's Award."
