A Princess PSA

One thing I often hear behind me when I am dressed up is "I wish I was pretty enough to do that". Up to now I've been quiet and have tried to think of a good response.

I'll be the first one to tell you that I have self confidence issues. I've never really thought of myself as beautiful. I grew up with the world telling me that I was not the definition of beauty. But as I've grown up, I've realized that beauty isn't on the outside. What makes me feel beautiful isn't putting on these extravagant gowns. What makes me feel beautiful is the look of wonder in a child's eye when they see their favourite character. I feel beautify when a mother tells me her child is still talking about meeting Elsa or Belle three days later. It's when I get told a child wants to watch my videos over and over again as it make her smile and giggle each time.

This world has such a messed up definition of beauty. Thinking back I wish I could look at each and every one of those women and tell them to do it. Go out and buy a princess dress. Walk around and sing for kids and pose for pictures, because you will find that their smiles will brighten your day. Soon you will stop worrying about how you look because all that matters is you made someone happy.

One day, we will all be gone. No one will remember what we looked like. But they sure will remember the way they made them feel.
