Cosplay Photo Editing Tutorials
Hello everyone Geek Girl
Jenn Marvel here,
So I know being a cosplayer and doing photoshoots and getting really awesome images back it's a really awesome feeling.
I look around and see so many awesome cosplay photos and so I started Digging and figuring out ways I could apply it to my own stuff. I am a VFX artist. I wanted to apply my feature film vfx work to editing my photos and really make some come to life.
I stumbled on
PSD Box. It's a really great website for tutorials, and resources, a lot of it is free but for like 30 dollars for a year membership you have access to everything site wide which is pretty amazing. I since then have been able to translate what I do on moving pictures into 2d still images.
One tutorial in particular which I think is one of my favorites so far is the
Compositing Tutorial.
It takes a bunch of images and puts them all together making a really cool scene, but also I've been able to translate these techniques into my own photos as well. It also shows you how to deal with cutting out hair. and an image to make it fit better within your scene.
So lets take a look.
For this you will need these images and then the links to other effects:

Background Lights)
(
Fire Particles)
(
Light Shapes)
And of course the tutorial:
Another great tutorial, which also can translate to cosplay photography.
In this we take an image of a model, and put it into a new background and add effects and lighting to give it that extra push.
This site is filled with amazing things, I really recommend you try it out. I've learned so much and extended my effects library for photo editing with just this site alone. This is just one of the many great sites and resources though.
I've also added a few edits I've done using these techniques. HAPPY EDITING!! :D
