Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Review

Hello Geeks and Geekettes! Here I am once again doing some more writing, and once again it's about movies. I'd like to first start off this by saying I am truly starting to realize that very few people think the way I do, especially when it comes to film. Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, in my opinion, was a fantastic sci-fi twist on history...

I've read some movie critics reviews and they were saying that this movie was too serious for the premise of it. "It's Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, obviously it's a ridiculous movie so why is it so serious?" I personally think it was meant to be a fairly serious movie.

*Spoiler Alert* For those who haven’t seen this movie, this was in the civil war era, the vampires were in the south, and the south/confederates were for slavery, it means it makes a little historical sense. The blacks were basically harvested for food, with the cover-up for injustice and slavery. In Geekland it's entirely plausible that vampires could have plotted to rule the world, and use slavery as a cover-up. It's similar to the movie Daybreakers where the remaining humans were harvested like cows. This film scooted by this movie season. It had little to no promotional content such as: very few ad's, and even less commercials.

This movie has the power to give this summer’s blockbusters a run for their money. Although it didn’t have many well-known actors, (the only two actors I recognized were Anthony Mackie and Scott Pilgrim's Ramona Flowers, Mary Winstead) but once again this film has the power to go up against the big boys. It placed a crazy, yet plausible plot of vampires into our history books. If you watch this movie and know anything about Civil War or Abe, you'll slowly realize that, "Wow, this really could have happened". The creators of this film honestly did their homework. I had high hopes for this film since Tim Burton had a little work on it, and man did it deliver. It has my bladder seal of approval. For those who don't know my bladder seal of approval is how I determine the greatness of a film. No matter how bad I have to pee, if I don't get up during a movie to relinquish that pee, then that film was great. This movie will definitely be one to add to my DVD collection upon its release.

It shames me that I forgot about this movie, and that I didn't add it to my Top 10 Geeky Movies article. But if I could go back in time, this film definitely has a spot in number 3. Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a fantastical tale about one of the most bad-ass presidents of all time, was indeed a bad-ass movie in itself. With its fair share of 'splosions, blood and guts, and punny lines I definitely declare, that “fore score and more” than 7 hours, I saw a movie that rocked my world. I highly suggest you see it too. I mean what’s better than vampires? Except for maybe zombies.... an idea for Abe Lincoln Part Two?!?!
