Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Cosplay

Ariel looks amazing in her Mandalorian Bounty Hunter cosplay! Here's what she said about it...

"Ever since I was a small girl, I always loved dressing up. I have always been a huge Star Wars, comic, and video game fan. I wanted to dress up as characters from my favorite movies, games, books, etc. I just never knew where to start. As I got older, I threw together a few costumes here and there, but they were never enough. There was never enough money, time, or skill. I was just never happy with my work. When I found Geek Girls, I was always jealous and amazed of the girls who could put together a wonderful cosplay. I wanted to be just like these girls; Dressing up as someone or something that makes you happy, that you can relate to, and feel confident doing it. After awhile, I just sort of gave up on my dream, thinking it could never really be achieved.

Then over a year ago, I met someone. Someone with the determination and encouragement I needed to get started. Someone who wanted to help me do the things I love. He is now my very wonderful boyfriend, Abbott. He is the talent behind the cosplay and costumes. He teaches me new things with every project we do together. I watched him do everything for this armor build, asked questions, and learned so many new things... That I wanted to do more. I have never been more excited about costuming than I am now, after all the things I've learned.

Dreams are not impossible. Sometimes we get knocked down, but we should always get back up. If you don't know how to do something, ask. If you aren't sure what types of material to use, research. Knowledge is power! Anyone can do what makes them happy! If I can, I know YOU can. Just remember that you can't give up no matter what you're trying to achieve. You can do it.

My armor is based off of Legacy armor, but we decided to modify it a bit. All color schemes were chosen by me. We decided to do a different take on the helmet and make it a bit more feminine and practical. Abbott made most of the armor decisions and created/painted all of the armor including the belt, cape, loincloth, and the blaster. The gauntlets were a pre-made kit that were modified and painted. Happy bounty hunting!"
